Business Insurance
Business Insurance in Vermont & New Hampshire
Your Business Is Unique. Your Insurance Should Be, Too.
From small Main Street shops and local contractors to restaurants, professional offices, and growing businesses, no two operations are exactly alike. That's why there's no such thing as a one-size-fits-all business insurance policy.
At Barrett Insurance Agency, we've been helping businesses throughout Vermont and New Hampshire since 1989. As an independent insurance agency, we work with a variety of insurance companies to explore coverage options based on your particular operations, property, employees, and liability exposures.
Understanding Your Business Insurance Options
Business insurance can involve several different types of policies and coverages. Depending on your operation, some may be packaged together, while others require separate policies.
Business Owners Policy (BOP)
For eligible businesses, a Business Owners Policy, commonly called a BOP, can be a convenient way to combine commercial property and general liability coverage into one policy. Often a solid option for smaller businesses with relatively straightforward operations.
Commercial Package Policy (CPP or CPKG)
For businesses with more complex operations or insurance needs, a Commercial Package Policy may offer greater flexibility. These policies can combine multiple commercial coverages and be tailored to the particular exposures of your business.
Commercial General Liability
Helps protect your business against certain claims involving bodily injury, property damage, and personal or advertising injury, subject to policy terms and exclusions.
Commercial Property
Coverage for buildings, business personal property, equipment, inventory, and other eligible property. Business income coverage may also be available to help with certain financial losses following a covered interruption.
Commercial Auto
Whether you operate a single business vehicle or an entire fleet, commercial auto insurance addresses liability and physical damage exposures associated with eligible business-owned or insured vehicles.
Workers' Compensation
Provides coverage for qualifying work-related employee injuries and illnesses, along with certain employer liability exposures. Requirements vary by state and business circumstances.
Employment Practices Liability (EPLI)
Can help address certain employment-related claims, such as allegations of wrongful termination, discrimination, or harassment, subject to policy terms.
Cyber Liability
As businesses increasingly rely on technology, cyber coverage is worth discussing. Depending on the policy, it may provide protection for certain data breaches, cyberattacks, business interruptions, and related expenses.
Commercial Umbrella & Excess Liability
Provides additional liability limits over certain underlying policies, subject to the umbrella or excess policy's terms and conditions.
It's About Understanding Your Business
A contractor, restaurant, retail store, and professional office may all need business insurance, but their exposures can be very different.
That's why we start by learning about your operation. What does your business do? Do you own or lease your building? Have employees? Operate vehicles? Work at customers' locations? Handle sensitive information?
These details help determine which insurance products and companies may be appropriate.
Coverage availability is subject to eligibility, underwriting approval, and individual policy terms, conditions, limits, and exclusions.
